    >>> Closing the loophole for potential legalization for the Ukrainian irregular migrants under the Ukrainian Extension Scheme (UES)

Note the rewording of the paragraph under the Appendix Ukraine, namely, UKR 21.3, relating to the Ukraine Extension Scheme:

UKR 21.3. The applicant must have had permission to enter or stay in the UK on 18 March 2022, unless:

    (a) they had permission to enter or stay in the UK immediately before 1 January, but that permission has since expired; or

    (b) they are a child born in the UK to a parent who qualifies under this paragraph.

All these changes came into force at 4pm on 11 May.

    >>> ID check Application is now also available for the Home for Ukraine applicants, who needs to enrol for the biometrics: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-a-visa-under-the-ukraine-sponsorship-scheme#prove-your-identity

    "Prove your identity

If you have a valid Ukrainian international passport
You can use the ‘UK Immigration: ID check’ app to prove your identity if you have a valid Ukrainian international passport. You do not need to attend a visa application centre to give your biometric information.

Using the ‘UK Immigration: ID check’ app

The ‘UK Immigration: ID check’ app checks your identity and verifies that the passport you’re using belongs to you. You’ll be told when to download the app once you begin your application online at GOV.UK - you can download the app at any time, but it will not work before this point.

You’ll use the app to scan your passport or take a photo if you can’t use the scanner."
  • The Home Office has paused considering the Ukrainian children' applications.

According to ILPA, the Home Office currently have around 500 applications from Ukrainian children who applied to come to the UK WITHOUT their parents under the Ukrainian Schemes.

It is not clear when and if the consideration of the applications from the Ukrainian children under the Ukrainian Schemes will be resumed.
